Project Context
The Ayeyarwady Delta is one of Southeast Asia's most critical river delta systems. Decades of deforestation, aquaculture expansion, and cyclone impacts have degraded mangrove coverage significantly.
This project focuses on restoring mangrove buffer zones in collaboration with villages that depend on healthy coastal ecosystems for food security and storm resilience.
Ecosystem Type
Delta mangrove systems with high biodiversity value and flood protection capacity
Community Role
Village cooperatives participate in planting, monitoring, and maintaining restored areas across multiple seasons
Storm Resilience
Restored mangroves buffer cyclone impacts that historically cause significant damage in the delta
Role of the Asset Manager
The project is implemented by a verified asset manager with experience in delta restoration and community coordination. The asset manager is responsible for:
- Hydrological assessment and site suitability analysis
- Seedling propagation and species selection
- Coordination with local cooperatives and government entities
- Long-term monitoring and adaptive management strategies
Role of Regenerativ
Regenerativ does not execute restoration work. Its role is coordination and accountability:
- Register contributions allocated to this project
- Track restoration inputs and lifecycle stages
- Issue Certificates of Regeneration based on verified milestones
- Maintain long-term records accessible to contributors
Lifecycle-Dependent Outcomes
Delta restoration requires patience. Impact reporting reflects current project stage:
